Nekst IT Cycling Event: A Celebration of Connection and Passion for Cycling and IT
It was a great pleasure for us to organize the Nekst IT Cycling Event in picturesque Tiel on June 2nd. This sporting event is an annual highlight for Nekst IT and our valued relations, where we share our passion for cycling and technology. For the fourth time in a row, the Nekst IT Cycling Event offered a unique opportunity for our relations to enjoy a day full of cycling action, inspiring speakers, forging new friendships and strengthening existing ties. The Nekst IT Cycling Event embodies the essence of Nekst IT: pursuing excellence, valuing our relationships and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
Start the Day With Inspiring Words
Before the bike ride, we had the pleasure of listening to two very engaging speakers. The first speaker – and also colleague – Bram Nijhoff shed light on the exciting world of artificial intelligence and spoke in particular about ChatGPT, an advanced AI developed by OpenAI. He took us into the possibilities and future of AI, which made for a stimulating and inspiring start to the day.
Our second speaker was Prof. dr. Bert Blocken, civil engineer and professor at KU Leuven. He is an expert on aerodynamics in cycling. His presentation provided insight into how air resistance and other factors can influence a cyclist’s performance. The knowledge we gained from this helped us understand how to better position ourselves on the bike for maximum speed and efficiency.
Pedals in Motion
Then it was time to get on the racing bikes and start the fantastic cycling course of Tiel. Our professional instructors Pascal, Vincent, Thomas and Cindy gave us the latest tips and tricks before we started our tour, allowing every participant, regardless of experience or ability, to start with confidence. After the demanding but exhilarating ride, we were treated to excellent food and the chance to share our experiences of the day.
Connected by Passion
In this fourth edition, we have all created new memories, pushed our limits and above all, enjoyed the wonderful sport that cycling is. We are proud of the positive response we receive each year and look forward to continuing this tradition. Participate yourself next year?
