Testing Should Be Built Into The Development Process From The Beginning

Lean & mean, that’s what Nekst IT stands for. Nekst IT, QA and testing specialist for companies that need to be assured of the highest quality software, IT and/or hybrid environments, was founded in 2013 to exploit a niche. Testing IT systems, infrastructure and applications has become commonplace. No one wants to be surprised at the end of a development process or at the rollout of a solution. Andre and AnneMarie Pieterse – who in addition to a household also form the management of Nekst IT, are entering the next phase of the organization with now 25 consultants. The current focus on Testing Excellence will be expanded with three new focuses, divided into so-called Squads: Salesforce Test & QA Squad; Test Automation Architects Squad; Industry 4.0 Test Squad.

Even within a relative niche market such as testing, there are niches, Andre Pieterse knows. At Nekst IT, the director-founder says that has long been everything Salesforce-related – now officially part of the company’s strategy. “The same goes for the other new focal points. We were already working on that and had already built up a lot of knowledge. Now we are going to structure that further, so that we can serve customers and employees better with this.”

Asked about general trends in the testing market, Andre states that testing automation is where things are increasingly headed. “Although opinions differ on how to implement this. These range from organizations that want to automate everything in testing right away, to companies that quietly want to get the basics down first and then see where efficiency can be improved through automation. This results in healthy discussions between organizations, professionals and test companies.”

Responding better to such a trend requires more focus and structure, Andre argues. This makes it easier to make it clear to existing and new clients where your differentiation lies. It also makes it easier for consultants to come out with a good story. “We have focused on Testing Excellence from the beginning and that remains our starting point. But it is better to indicate the areas in which we bring that Excellence. We are now in Phase 4 of our development and are now implementing our strategic plan for the next five years.”
