An international trading house seeking clear documentation of acceptance criteria for a new document management system. The organization selected a commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) solution with several custom adjustments to meet its specific operational needs.

 

Challenge

 

The project evolved over time, but requirement changes were not consistently documented. This led to:

• missing or outdated requirements

The trading house needed a unified platform capable of storing and displaying both hard‑copy and digital documents, supported by clear documentation and structured testing to ensure the system met all updated requirements.

The consultant gathered missing and changed requirements directly from stakeholders and documented them in Confluence, creating a complete and up‑to‑date repository of all functional and non‑functional requirements.

Using the documented requirements, the consultant created and executed acceptance tests to verify that the system met all business criteria and functioned as intended.

 

Introduction of Test Automation

Automated regression testing was not in place at the start of the project. The consultant introduced TestComplete, integrated it into the IT landscape, and established automated regression checks to validate new releases quickly and reliably.
