But what is testing excellence and how is it reflected in the above? The term may not immediately evoke a meaning, but testing excellence is twofold. Of course, we are looking for people with knowledge in the field of testing. But skills can be learned. Personality cannot.
To indicate the importance of this, an example of a situation where exactly this came up. A customer called us and asked for a senior tester. But before we let ourselves be led by this request for a specific set of skills and expertise, we asked ourselves the following important question: which person would fit this customer? By starting this conversation and getting to the bottom of it, we had the perfect match for them. Not a senior, but a junior tester. This tester had exactly the skills and personality needed for this question. The tester put the project’s interests first and was a perfect fit for this particular group of people. This situation clearly shows that the customer’s requirements are not always our guide but that we always advise from our experience and people.
What is incredibly important to us as Nekst IT is that we only offer the best match to a customer. In the end, the customer took our advice and was extremely happy to trust us as this tester was indeed exactly the person they were looking for. That is what it’s all about when you talk about testing excellence: the right qualities and personality for a specific issue and situation.

Testing excellence starts with the match: an excellent match with excellent qualities is what we always aim for. Our customers and their goals are central and offering the best match is essential. But that best match doesn’t just fall out of the sky.
